Sensuality of objects

Thursday, 06 February 2014 10:36 Written by Roxana Cervantes

Born in Apatzingan in the Valley of Tierra Caliente at Michoacan State, Roxana began her training by observing the nature of the valley and the idiosyncrasy of its people.

In this rough environment, she learned to take out the sensuality of most delicate objects and, later, trained in the formal study and practice of design and art, to represent them in various materials -bronze, silver, polymers, ceramics, gold, boulder, wood- as sculpture in different formats, even that can be used as jewelry.

Her mastering of multiple production techniques has given her the possibility to create objects that transcend and express to those whom observe, the magnitude of beauty contained in her Mexican roots.

Her work has been presented, both in collective and individual exhibitions in several states in Mexico and abroad in Austria, Czech Republic, France, Cuba and the United States.
